My name is Ron Tripp and I am a Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Depending on the needs of my client, I may also incorporate aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (Mindfulness Counselling), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Relational Emotive Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I was raised in New Mexico and later moved to San Francisco, CA, where I received a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on Human Sexuality studies at SFSU. I moved to Sydney in 2002 and received a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology. I worked at ACON (AIDS Council of NSW) as a counsellor and group facilitator for 5 years and currently work at Sydney Sexual Health Centre as a counsellor.

I am a clinical member of The Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of New South Wales Inc and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
I work primarily with individuals and couples in private, face-to-face sessions. Sessions generally run 50 minutes, however please allow approximately 75 minutes for initial consultations.

Individual sessions are $100*
Couple’s sessions are $130*

*Sliding scale fees negotiable for financially disadvantaged clients and people living with HIV/AIDS (plwh/a). Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) provides financial assistance in the form of short-term, no/low-interest loans to PLWH/A. For more information and eligibility criteria, contact BGF on (02) 9283 8666.

At present Medicare does not recognise the services of counselling and psychotherapy within rebates. Some major private insurers, however, provide benefits to clients interested in accessing counselling support beginning July 2009.
